Relationships

KINGS strives for being beyond the ordinary schools, which pursue theoretical knowledge for degrees. Instead of taking the traditional education approach, we place emphasis on external cooperation to provide practical knowledge and information about nuclear power with KINGS students.

KINGS is an international graduate school, which was established for cultivating practical nuclear power professionals, and builds close cooperation with domestic and foreign schools, companies, and other institutions in the nuclear field.

Domestic Relationships

Relationship with KEPCO Nuclear Group

We entered into the MOU for establishment and operation of KINGS with 5 KEPCO NPP Group companies such as KEPCO, KHNP, KEPCO E&C, KEPCO KPS, and KEPCO NF in August 2010. With this agreement, we have been given tremendous support from them in terms of student recruitment, securing outstanding faculty, and curriculum and research development.

In particular, educational and research facilities including simulators and project management software programs are available, and field trips to NPPs in operation and under construction nearby KINGS campus will be enormously helpful for students to learn practical knowledge that other schools cannot provide.

Relationship with Nuclear Companies

Republic of Korea has retained the most competitive nuclear power plant industry for the last 4 decades based on the governmental initiative and supports toward continuous construction and operation of NPPs. In January 2011, we concluded the MOU for operation of KINGS with internationally recognized Korean nuclear power companies (plant equipment manufacturer - Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction / construction companies - Daelim Industrial, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, Samsung C&T, Hyundai Engineering & Construction) for mutual cooperation in student and faculty recruitment, and educational and research facilities utilization.

Other Organization

KINGS also entered into MOUs with domestic organizations in the nuclear field on human resource exchange, facility utilization and joint projects.
