APR1400 Simulator

The Nuclear Plant Analyzer (NPA) performs real-time and fast simulation capabilities of APR1400 to represent the real scenario at the main control room, which was designed to be identical to an actual nuclear power plant. Through the training the students will be better able to understand the safety and key auxiliary systems of NPPs, improve their safety analysis capabilities and respond to emergencies. The NPA provides Thermal Hydraulics and core behaviors at NPPs during various operational transients and accident condition.

3D CATS enhances understanding of the systems, components, structures using a 3D graphical walkthrough. The interphase helps the user to understand the application of each component of the NPP that will provide knowledge when doing the maintenance activities of the major component. Knowing how to operate and use this tool in an effective way, gives the users the capability to familiarize with the system of APR1400.

KINGS’ PC Lab, HPC Lab and 3D Printer Lab provide students with design, simulation and analyses software programs which give an overview of the design and operation of the NPP structures, systems and components.
