Mr. Lee Joo-ho (EPE second-year)’s paper was selected as a best paper of KARP (Korean Association for Radiation Protection) Fall conference 2022.
The Introduction of the paper is:
The release of radioactive materials during nuclear accident has a serious impact on the environment and human health. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a radiological consequences analysis to analyze the accident situation and take prompt protective actions during accident. In the 2011 Fukushima accident, it was difficult to estimate the amount and effect of radioactive materials using internal information and environmental monitoring due to the earthquake and tsunami. So, the estimation of source term using environmental monitoring was recommended. Therefore, we propose a new source term estimation strategy that overcomes the existing physical limitations and errors of estimation. In this study, a feasibility study on the estimation of source term using the environmental monitoring based on UAV and Deep Learning technology is proposed and conducted.

The 12th colloquium was held in the KINGS auditorium with approximately 80 people of the KINGS community on 22 November 2022. The invited speaker, Dr. Hwang Yong-soo, President of KINAC, delivered a lecture titled DPRK Nuclear Issues - DPRK Nuclear Capability and Our Responses.
After the lecture, Dr. Hwang and audience of KINGS students and KINGS professors had a Q&A session on how to stop North Korea to develop nuclear weapon and North Korea’s electricity grid.

The 11th colloquium was held in the KINGS auditorium with approximately 80 people of the KINGS community on 8 November 2022. The invited speaker, Mr. Jin Jae-young, Head of Korea, WORLD BANK GROUP – MIGA, delivered a lecture titled World Bank Group: Climate Change Action Plan 2021-2025.
After the lecture, Mr. Jin and and audience of KINGS students and KINGS professors had a Q&A session on the MIGA Project, MIGA roles, and tackling climate change from MIGA's point of view.
